What the B license covers

A California "B" General Building license covers projects that combine two or more building trades, which is how we deliver backyards: grading and concrete, pavers and hardscape, patio covers and pergolas, outdoor kitchens and fire features, drainage, landscape and turf, and pools as part of a complete backyard project. We pull the required city or county permits for every project that needs one.

Insurance

General liabilityCarried for all work
Workers' compensationCarried for our crew

We send certificates of insurance before work starts, and we'll send them before you sign on request. Specialty trades are licensed subcontractors listed in your contract. We also carry the contractor license bond the CSLB requires; its details appear on our CSLB license page.

Your contract

  • Every project has a written home improvement contract that meets California Business and Professions Code §7159, including the price, payment schedule, start and completion dates, and your notice of cancellation rights.
  • The down payment is never more than $1,000 or 10% of the contract price, whichever is less, and we never ask for payment ahead of the work completed.
  • Changes are made only by a signed, written change order.
  • Our license number appears on our contracts, estimates, vehicles and advertising, as the law requires.
